Casa Loy
Casa Loy is a Los Altos, Jalisco distillery (NOM 1633) built around a rare advantage in tequila: genuine production flexibility. Founded on the legacy of Don Luis Loy, the distillery runs a self-sufficient agave supply and more than 13 million litres of annual capacity, giving it the scale of a major producer with the option to work in almost any style — from clean, modern, diffuser-assisted production to fully traditional, hands-on artisanal methods. That range of technique is the throughline across everything Casa Loy makes: agave cooked in stone brick ovens, deep-well water, and a house style built on balance rather than extremes.
The core collection covers the full 100% agave ladder — Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and Cristalino. The Añejo is the standout of the range, aged a minimum of 18 months across a combination of American white oak and bourbon barrels, developing roasted agave, toasted oak, caramelized spice and dried fruit, and bottled completely additive-free. The Cristalino takes that same barrel-aged character and fine-filters it back to a clear, bright spirit — cooked agave and wood on the nose, vanilla and caramel on the palate, with a clean, easy-drinking finish. Reposado and Blanco round out the collection as approachable, everyday expressions built for both neat sipping and cocktails.
Beyond the core range, Casa Loy also produces small, more traditional expressions under its Piedra y Agave line — including a striking high-proof Blanco 49, made with stone-oven cooking, tahona extraction, open-air spontaneous fermentation, and copper pot still distillation at a bold 49% ABV. It's a deliberate step back into old-world technique from a distillery that could easily default to modern shortcuts, and it signals a house that treats tradition as a choice, not a limitation — a distillery equally comfortable supplying a consistent commercial range and crafting something genuinely artisanal when the project calls for it.
